Musical instruments are always a great source of learning for children. In addition, if they are handmade and with recycled materials, kids will learn twice as much. How about making one?
APLI Dressy Bond
APLI natural raffia
APLI white glue
APLI self-adhesive tape
APLI small polypropylene balls
APLI wooden skewer sticks
An infant formula milk can
Cut a rectangle of card to cover the whole front of the can.
Mark the following points with a pencil.
Make holes with the cutter and thread the wool through the holes. First in one direction and then in the other.
Roll the cardboard around the can and secure it with white tape.
Cut a round piece of the same cardboard with the diameter of the can and stick it onto the can.
Cut a round piece of Dressy Bond cloth and tie it to the can with the different cords.
It’s almost done… decorate the base with pompoms and then make a couple of drumsticks for the drum to sound nice and strong…
Here it is! Have you decided what you want to play?
